What is the Heart Instructed to do?

Salaamun 'alaykum wa rahmat-ul-lahi wa barakātuh

What is the Heart Instructed to do?

In the name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) .

The heart is instructed to strive with excellence while remaining content with Allah’s decree, for anxiety over provision, status, or longevity only distracts from meaningful action. True balance lies in effort without obsession, trust without passivity, and hope without dependence - knowing that what reaches you was never meant to miss you, and what misses you was never meant to reach you.

🎙️al-Samarqandī said:

“Do not preoccupy yourself with three matters:

1. Do not preoccupy yourself with poverty, for it increases your anxiety and sorrow, and intensifies your greed.

2. Do not preoccupy yourself with the injustice of one who has wronged you, for it hardens your heart, multiplies your resentment, and prolongs your anger.

3. And do not preoccupy yourself with the length of worldly life, for it leads you to excessive accumulation, wastes your lifetime, and causes procrastination in righteous action.

- 📚 Tanbīh al-Ghāfilīn, vol. 1, p. 572.

May Allaah accept our ibaadat and forgive our shortcomings.

Keep Reminding, for Indeed the ʀᴇᴍɪɴᴅᴇʀ ʙᴇɴᴇꜰɪᴛs ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴇʟɪᴇᴠᴇʀ
