*Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmat-ul-lahi wa barakātuh* 

Would You Like to Prolong Your Life?

_In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) ._

Allāh's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said,

"Whoever would like to have his provisions expanded and his lifespan extended, then let him join and maintain family ties.”

(Saheeh al-Bukhārī, hadeeth no. 5985)

_🎙️Al-‘Allāmah, Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله commenting on the above hadeeth,_

*The meaning of ((have his lifespan extended)) is that he will be remembered (mentioned) in a good and beautiful manner after his death, as if he were granted a long life. It is as though he is still living among the people even though he has passed away.*

*That is due to the praise of the people for him and their continuous remembrance (mention) of him in a good and beautiful way. Thus, it is as if he is still alive.*
