Question: Some people at times, particularly due to extreme weather and cold, have to light a fire or heater such that it is in front of them when they pray. Should one place it in the direction of the qiblah?

_In the name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) ._

*Question: Some people at times, particularly due to extreme weather and cold, have to light a fire or heater such that it is in front of them when they pray. Should one place it in the direction of the qiblah?*

السؤال: بعض الناس خاصة مع شدة الأجواء والبرودة أحيانًا يضطر لإشعال النار قد تكون هذه النار أمامهُ في الصلاة ويكون أمامهُ مدفئه فهل يجعلها في قبلة صلاتهِ؟

*🎙️Answer: The scholars say it is disliked to face a fire even if it were a lamp. So he should not face fire (of any type), rather he should put it to the side and not in front of him because this is imitating al-Majūs (ie: the Magians) who worship fire .*

*May Allaah accept our ibaadat and forgive our shortcomings.*
