*Salaamun 'alaykum wa rahmat-ul-lahi wa barakātuh*
*Tafsir: You Were Not Created Just to Enjoy the Dunya*
_In the name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) ._
*Allah, the Most High, said:*
*اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ*
*“[The time of] their reckoning has drawn near for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.” (al-Anbiya)*
*🎙️Shaykh Abdul-Rahman ibn Nasir al-Sa‘di:*
*“This is an expression of amazement at the condition of the people, that reminders do not benefit them, nor do they take heed from a warner, and that their reckoning and recompense has drawn near for their righteous and evil deeds, while they remain in heedlessness, turning away; that is, heedless of that for which they were created, and turning away from that by which they were warned. It is as though they were created for the worldly life, and born only to enjoy it.”*

*May Allaah accept our ibaadat and forgive our shortcomings.*
