Ibrahim Nakhai, Crying At The Time Of His Death

*Salaamun 'alaykum wa rahmat-ul-lahi wa barakātuh* 

_In the name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) ._

```Ibrāhīm An-Nakha’ī رحمه الله was crying at the time of his death. 

He was asked: “What makes you cry?”

He said: “Waiting for the angel of death! I do not know if he will give me the glad tidings of Al-Jannah or the Hellfire!”

This is the speech of the most righteous from the servants of Allāh, then where are we? 

We always feel this safety and security, and this is due to our heedlessness and false hope. 

Allāh سبحانه وتعالى says:

وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡأَمَانِیُّ حَتَّىٰ جَاۤءَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ وَغَرَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ

(and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you concerning Allah.)

The poet says:

 قائِدُ الغَفلَةِ الأَمَل

وَالهَوى قائِدُ الزَلَل

(The leader of heedlessness is [false] hope, and desires is the leader of mistakes)

قَتَلَ الجَهلُ أَهلَهُ

وَنَجا كُلُّ مَن عَقَل

(Ignorance destroys its people, and those who are saved are all those who use their intellect).```

*May Allaah Subhaanahu wa ta'alaa grant us Good Ending.. Aamiin .*

*May Allaah accept our ibaadat and forgive our shortcomings.*
